Client: Head
Start Bureau
Challenge:
Based on President Bush's "Good Start, Grow Smart"
initiative, the National Reporting System assesses all
4 and 5 year old children in Head Start to measure their
educational progress. The system needed to be able to
support over 30,000 assessors, 40,000 teachers in close
to 19,000 different locations around the United States
and territories as they assess over 500,000 children
twice per year. Xtria was required to create a Web-based
computer application that would be able to collect this
large amount of data, manage the logistics of the project
and provide reporting capabilities back to the educators
and administrators throughout the nation.
Solution:
Xtria analyzed, designed, developed and continues to
host and manage the Computer-based Reporting System.
Xtria was able to meet the government's stringent privacy
and security requirements with innovative encryption
schemes and layered security systems. Xtria has successfully
created a system that is easy to use for close to 80,000
unique users, is maintained in both Spanish and English
and we provide high quality technical assistance for
over 7,000 support calls every year.
