Challenge:The
National Reporting System's Computer-based Reporting
System (CBRS) is used by thousands of people throughout
the United States and territories. While live, instructor-led
training is provided to over 3,000 people every year,
there are still thousands more in need of training or
refresher training every year. Instruction manuals and
help menus are available as well, but the lack of an
interactive training for those additional thousands
of users resulted in a large number of technical assistance
phone calls.
Solution:
To meet this training challenge and reduce user reliance
on the technical assistance hotlines, Xtria provided
an online Flash-based interactive training. This incorporated
both audio and animation to effectively guide new users
through the CBRS. The implementation of this training
format along with the availability of a practice Web site
reduced the number of technical assistance phone calls
by 450 per month or roughly 40%.
